Note to Clients and Prospective Clients Regarding Good Faith Estimates
  • Under the law, health care providers must give clients who do not have or do not use insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
  • You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute it. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
  • For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Cancellation and Re-Scheduling
  • To cancel or re-schedule an appointment, please notify Sun Ridge at least 24 hours in advance.
  • If a session is missed without notice, or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the Sun Ridge policy is to collect the full session fee or the co-pay or coinsurance amount.
Service Approaches Sun Ridge aims to provide services to all community members. Prospective clients are encouraged to discuss various service approaches to determine best options:
  • Meeting twice a month, with agreed assignments during the two weeks between sessions. Open Path clients may choose to use the online library at Open Path Wellness Solutions (an access key is provided).
  • Use a brief, solution-focused series of six 30-minute sessions to address one specific issue and goal.
  • Open Path Psychotherapy Collective - some time slots are available through this non-profit network dedicated to providing mental health care at a reduced rate.
  • Sun Ridge accepts referrals from several Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) through Workplace Options. Many EAPs offer confidential brief counseling (typically 3 to 6 sessions) at no cost.
  • No-cost community support groups or educational classes are available online. Some support groups run continuously. Other groups and all classes take place periodically when there is sufficient registration.
Prior to starting therapy, prospective clients are responsible for providing accurate insurance information to Sun Ridge: - Specific coverage provided for therapy services - Current status of annual deductible obligation - Session co-pay/coinsurance obligation after deductible is met
